Forward in Faith | Winter 2025
In 2018 while attending a counseling class at Reformed Theological Seminary, Caleb Martin, now Perimeter’s Director of Counseling, felt called to help people experience heart transformation through the power of the gospel. By 2021, he saw that, despite Perimeter’s strong discipleship and shepherding structures, many in the church still struggled. “They needed the gift of time,” Caleb said. “A dedicated space to process their struggles, find hope, and experience deeper intimacy with Christ. They needed a space to discover kingdom flourishing.”

In response, Perimeter Counseling launched in February 2024 as part of the Forward campaign. Offering Christ-centered, clinically informed care, the department grew to six counselors in its first year, facilitating over 900 appointments. The team walks alongside individuals in their suffering, offering love and truth while guiding them toward the transformative power of Christ.
One member shared, “Having a resource at our own church brings a level of ease and trustworthiness.” Another said, “We absolutely know Jesus’s heart more because of our time with you.”
Caleb describes biblical counseling as both redemptive and practical. “The goal is heart change and spiritual healing that impacts daily life. We use psychological tools when helpful, but Scripture remains our primary source of wisdom.”
