Perimeter Welcomes the 2024 Resident Class

Mattie Hunt leading during a Young Adult ministry event
In September, Perimeter welcomed ten new young adults to our Resident Program. Many are recent college graduates from the Southeast looking to gain practical and hands-on vocational experience in a ministry setting.
For two years, these residents will be embedded across Perimeter’s ministries, including Worship, Communications, IT, Students, Production, Belong, and Camp All-American, to name a few. They work alongside experienced staff, developing skills needed to eventually be sent out well-equipped to serve in local churches or nonprofits.
Mattie Hunt, a second-year resident in the Young Adult ministry, said, “I have been organizing events, fostering community, and teaching Bible study since middle school. However, my Residency has equipped me with tools in leadership, evangelism, and administration, which have matured my faith and expanded my ability to live out my calling. This equipping will not only impact my current role but will shape wherever God calls me next.”
Residents also gain theological training through the Metro Atlanta Seminary (MAS), exposure to life-on-life discipleship, mentorship, and the camaraderie of living and working side by side with their peers and fellow believers. One resident said, “It’s been transformative to work alongside people who love the Lord and love their ministries!”

Camping trip for new residents
Michal Whitlock, Perimeter’s Resident Coordinator, is deeply encouraged. “This generation of young people has so much to offer,” she said. “They come in with different life experiences. They are hardworking, care deeply about others, are naturally empathic, and seem to really get the importance of the local church. They are worth investing in and eager to learn.”
Michal ended by saying, “Imagine sending out ten residents a year who are equipped in ministry and passionate about the local church. The ripple effect of that is enormous.”
