Forward in Faith | Fall 2024

“I believe that managing our finances according to God’s principles and wisdom is one of the most objective means of discipleship that could possibly exist.”
— Ron Blue

As some of Perimeter’s earliest members, Gordon and Joy Moore have served our congregation for decades. Joy was on staff for 30 years in our children’s ministry. Gordon served for 39 years as Chief of Operations/Financial Officer and later as our Director of Generosity.

Throughout those years, Gordon’s leadership and the consistent teaching of our church on generosity have profoundly shaped Perimeter’s reputation for financial integrity and faithful stewardship.

“From the beginning of our church,” says Gordon, “Perimeter has always had such a strong value to give ourselves away. We know God’s in control and that we are His stewards or managers. It’s

everything to give to His Glory. We just want to be good stewards of every dollar that we are given.”

We are deeply grateful for the Moores’ example and dedication to stewardship and service. Theirs is an incredible history and legacy of investing in the children, families, staff, and members of Perimeter.

Ron Blue, widely considered to be the father of Christian financial planning, said, “Of all the churches I’ve worked with, I’ve not seen one that has the extent of ministry and commitment to financial stewardship that Perimeter has. I’ve also observed that one of the big reasons I believe in the success of the stewardship ministry at Perimeter is the passionate emphasis on discipleship.”

Gordon said as he retires and looks back, his family feels so blessed to be a part of Perimeter. “It is stunning and inspiring to see what God has done. God has done something special here and the tracks have been laid for us to keep moving forward. It’s not about me. It’s about using everything we have for His glory.”
