Forward in Faith | Winter 2025

At Perimeter Church, 368 elders and deacons serve faithfully behind the scenes, providing spiritual and practical care for our congregation.

The elders are responsible for teaching and shepherding. They lead discipleship groups, teach classes, and help guide the church’s spiritual growth. Each elder shepherds a small group of member families, praying for and connecting with them. They also lead special times of prayer for healing, serve communion, and visit the sick.

Deacons play an equally vital role by providing practical help. They oversee care teams that assist with meeting financial or material needs, ensure that widows in our church family receive personal support, and manage the Deacon’s Fund.

In addition to these more visible roles, the service of our officers goes much deeper. Many have faithfully labored for years on behalf of our church family. Chris Little, for example, is an elder who has consistently invested in the next generation through discipleship and mentoring. Similarly, Elder Joe Tjoe is known for his years of dedicated work in our marriage ministry, supporting couples in need.

Though many in our church family may never see the day-to-day work of the elders and deacons, their care, guidance, and servant-hearted leadership are integral to the mission and nurture of Perimeter Church.

Twenty-one new officers were ordained at the November 2024 ordination ceremony.
